Community Development and Civic and Environmental Education

Community development is the improvement of the living conditions of the people of a given community in terms of organization, economic, social, political, environmental and cultural well-being, taking into account their specificities.

The intellectual development of community members in each of the fields of knowledge is thus crucial for the exercise of civic and environmental responsibility and for the sustainable development of it.

In this strategic priority, KUWUKA JDA aims to promote community development primarily through civic environmental education actions, including the initiation of community social preparedness processes, planning and implementation of participatory projects by members of local communities in the area of sustainable land use , environment and natural resources in order to ensure their resilience to the challenges of climate change, the struggle for resources and other social situations.
